Research helps us to contribute to the existing knowledge. It explores the existing issues, trends and practices in the different fields and helps us improve it. Research provides a way out to us. There are different methods of research, which helps us in identifying the different problems, related to the different fields, through the findings; and then testing the reliability of those findings through several tests – before finally analyzing it. CMTR has seasoned team in research, which has the potential to carry out any research project on part of our clients. We are skilled in utilizing the following the research methods to look into the different research problems:

1. Survey:

Survey is considered the best research method when aim is to understand the people’s attitude, behavior and choices. It helps us knowing what the people like and why the people like. Survey gives us the results, which can be utilized in shaping the existing policies and strategies. It is conducted through survey questionnaires and interviews. CMTR has the potential and workforce to conduct the baseline survey or extensive survey project for its clients. It may be related to knowing the existing awareness level or attitude of community about any campaign, disease or any other government initiative; or even it can be about the exposure of audience or readers to the media content. Survey research method is broad in its application and has the potential to answer any inquiry.

2. Content Analysis:

It is a quantitative method, which aims to look into the content to explore the coverage from different perspectives. It is considered the best research method when aim is to understand the nature of the coverage. It is the most reliable method in research supported by statistics and (verification) tests. Researchers claim that it has the ability to look into the explicit and latent meaning of the text. It is extensively used in the research world to study the image of different genders, countries and organizations. It equally helps us to understand the policies formed and executed in the different periods.

3. Focus Group Discussions:

Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) or Focus Group Interviews is one of the qualitative research methods used to identify the opinion and reaction of the particular group to the particular issue. It is time saving and cost effective, and equally helpful in generating debate and finding new themes in it. It depends on the nature of issue under discussion to select the relevant group for it. The moderator, who plays a crucial role in it, stays neutral and focused in this whole process. Once, the discussion is completed, and then the whole data is transcribed, translated (if necessary) and then analyzed.

4. Discourse/ Critical Discourse Analysis:

Discourse/ Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), qualitative research methods, has the ability to look deeper into the latent meaning of the text. There are certain other approaches included in this method, which includes: semiotics, symbolic interaction, ideological criticism and rhetoric. It depends on the nature of the research to apply one or two approaches in the study.

5. Interviews:
Conducting Interviews are the best research methods when aim is to explore the opinion of the experts, relevant persons, officials etc. It helps the researchers understand that why things happen and what can be the possible remedies. It gives closer look to the researchers and helps them to come up with more concrete evidences. It is a qualitative method and majorly used in the mass media research. It can be also utilized in the researches related to the health, culture and social life of the people.
6. Ethnographic Research:
Ethnographic research is the study of the people in their own environment through the use of methods such as participant observation and face-to-face interviewing. It is the qualitative method and helps us to have the first hand information about the cultural setting of the people. It is also a reliable method and needs hard work on the part of researchers to control their own biases and feelings while collecting the data through observations. It is used in many fields of study including: Sociology, Anthropology, Mass Media and Psychology.
7. Trend Analysis:
Trend Analysis helps us understand the current and future movement of events through the series of time and data analysis. Pattern or Trend can be found over the analysis of events over the sequential period of time. It helps us understand the future trends – based on the past data.
8. Data Verification:
CMTR is also qualified in the crosscheck of the collected data. We are equipped with research-based software, which can check the validity of the available data – it can be both quantitative and qualitative. Additionally, the data verification techniques can be also utilized in the field for verification.
9. Data Analysis and Report Writing:
